RAAVAN
is RAAVAIN
I watched RAAVAN today..
Long story short – “Full of crap”
I’m not surprised to learn that it is crap. Mani Ratnam (so called genius) was making crap movies from a long time. Watching the amateurish acting from Abhishek was the biggest torture of all. Aishwarya screaming like a dog is the next big torture, the unnecessary close-up shots on Abhishek’s face only made the screen like a shit-hole… there is no flow in the story… none of the characters looked interesting to watch… background score was not appealing … ‘RGV ki Aag’ is million times better than ‘Raavan’.
Ohh Gosh..
“Kindly issue a strip of 10 Disprin tablets to everyone leaving auditorium after watching Raavan. Each tablet to be taken twice a day for five consecutive days as it might take a bit longer to recuperate.”
Well this is a prescription every doctor worth his drug (salt) would write for you (and himself too, in case he’s one of the patients suffering from Mani-aria). Like its protagonist, my head was reeling off with ten heads talking to me, here’s a brief transcription of what I could recollect:
I’m not complaining on portraying Rama as a villain and Ravana as hero in the movie…in fact Mani Ratnam’s smartness lies only in that… because he knew that would create controversy and trigger stupid debates in the media which gives free publicity… eager audience want to watch the movie and find out what it is all about… which is what the producers want… they don’t give a shit about how the audience feel while or after watching the movie….I think his sole purpose is to draw as many audience as possible to the movie theatres… but all in VAIN!
